Fuel – Hydration – Rest

Hydration is another key in getting the most out of your work out. It is important to stay hydrated before, during, and especially after the workout. When our bodies sweat, water is lost in the process which is one of the reasons to hydrate.  Another key point to remember is once the workout if over a person may feel like they are hungry however sometimes it really means that the body really needs to be rehydrated.

Rest is also important in order to get the most out of your work out. Rest or sleep helps the body recover from the workout, recharge, as well as heal or repair while sleeping or resting. By allowing enough rest in between the workouts as well as getting enough sleep at night, will help improve the body‘s ability to get the most out of the work out.

The workout itself also has some rules to follow. It is important to remember to warm up the body prior to exercising. That means you begin the warm-up to get the muscles sufficiently warm and the blood flowing; not just jumping right into the main segment of the workout. By beginning with the warm-up, the body will have a lower risk of injury during the workout.

Now you’re ready to move into the main segment once the body is sufficiently warmed up. You are ready to get down to business whether it is working on cardio, resistance, interval training or whatever your main segment looks like. Remember to breath and avoid holding your breath during exercise.  Moving through a full range of motion will help to maintain one’s flexibility.

Never skip a cooldown.

The last part of your workout should include your cooldown/stretch/flexibility. The body begins to move slower to allow for a controlled stretch.  Through stretching and flexibility training, the muscles are returning back to their elongated state. You may find at the end of the workout that  you to stand taller and feel better after each workout.

Following the steps, remembering to fuel your body with the right foods, stay hydrated, get sufficient rest plus following the work out from warm up all the way to the stretching portion will help you to get the most out of each and every workout!
